Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alacarte

I tried decreasing the clutter in System>Preferences using the 'Main
Menu' applet by creating folders like these:

Customization
Networking
Peripherals

...and then moving shortcuts to their appropriate folder.

When I moved the shotcuts it was moved to its new home correctly.

HOWEVER the original shortcut was regenerated in its old location AND in
the 'Other' directory in the main trunk of the menu.

BUG #1 - Moved shortcuts are regenerating themselves in their old
location AND are being added to the 'Other' menu directory.

When I deleted the regenerated and extra 'Other' shortcuts, all of my
changes in System>Preferences were completely undone.

BUG #2 - Removing the extra shortcuts also undos all changes you wanted
to keep.

Thank You
