Built for all supported architectures. Rationale ========= This app replaced gucharmap in core GNOME as of GNOME 3.20. When this MIR is approved, gnome-characters will replace gucharmap in the default Ubuntu install and gucharmap will be demoted to universe. gucharmap is displayed as "Character Map". gnome-characters is displayed as "Characters". Background information ====================== While gucharmap is a traditional Character Map app with a "traditional" design, the GNOME Characters app has a GNOME3 design. gucharmap is a complete Unicode 10 and font browser; the Characters app has a more focused scope on trying to show useful categorized emoji, symbols and punctuation.
