Hello guys, I'm from #134734. Well after reading your comments, I think
you're wrong when some of you are saying that the DSDT doesn't get
loaded. The dmesg says it was and as said before, if you disassemble the
current DSDT, you're getting your modified version. So here the problem
is not.

According to some people, the new version of the kernel doesn't ship
with hda intel as part of the kernel but is kind of "separated" (maybe
in linux-ubuntu-modules?) and this seems to be our problem.

Anyway, what's fun is I reverted my DSDT today (deleted DSDT file in
/etc/initramfs-tools/) and added a boot option with acpi=off
(acpi_osi=!Linux seems anyway useless, my dmesg reports that
"_OSI(Linux) has" already "been disabled" because it detected a Toshiba
P100) and sound works (yeah no surprise) but I also noticed that the
supplementary errors lots of us get since Gutsy at boot-time about are
also gone :

(these ones)
[ 28.596140] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 7 of bridge 0000:00:1c.0
[ 28.596233] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:1c.0
[ 28.596319] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 9 of bridge 0000:00:1c.0
[ 28.596403] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 7 of bridge 0000:00:1c.1
[ 28.596489] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:1c.1
[ 28.596576] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 9 of bridge 0000:00:1c.1
[ 28.596660] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 7 of bridge 0000:00:1c.2
[ 28.596745] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:1c.2
[ 28.596831] PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 9 of bridge 0000:00:1c.2

So there is definitly a problem with memory allocation and PCI and it
might explain why sound can't work on our machines... maybe?

If only some expert could come across this bug!
