I can't check right now, because I don't have Gutsy installed yet. 
But I asked some Gusty users to test, and someone confirmed that the bug was 
still present (gutsy, OOo 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5.1). 
Apparently, the memory usage keeps stable when you open the document. But the 
very fact of scrolling increases the memory used by soffice.bin. To be short : 
the more you scroll, the less free RAM (and swap) you have. 
I also add that with Dapper, soffice.bin never uses more than 135Mo (even after 
10min of scrolling in the document). 
I will try to find other testimonials until I can check with my own machine.
