Based on the two regular expressions used in the function
get_gtk_file_ver($1) in the launch script ("bin/acroread"), I believe
the above submitted patch is only fixing the symptom, not the cause.
However, it might be that I have misinterpreted the original author's
intentions. I believe the bug really is located in the second one of
those two regular expressions.
I have attached a patch that I believe fixes the cause, not the symptom.
