In summary - git format-patch a commit made upstream after this current
release
Tested on Ubuntu Budgie - confirmed the appmenu correctly displays
without the extra menu i.e. the same way as on Zesty.
Tested on GNOME-Session - confirmed the appmenu displays in the panel
with the expected simplified menu in the headerbar.
