While testing some other bug reports, I tried to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu artful, but I didn't get any error message when attempting to start the program. Though without any version number or release mentioned, I suppose the issue might have occured in another Ubuntu release? Please run the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 1718433 When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected.
