I wonder if dmidecode really isn't there or if in your case it only fails to
find it.
Since ubuntu-standard depends on it I'd expect it is there.
Can you check:
$ dpkg -S /usr/sbin/dmidecode
$ dpkg -l dmidecode
$ dpkg -l libvirt-daemon-system
** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
