2) There is no difference, but wine-stable package has 2.0.2-2ubuntu1 version
3) wine needs gecko to run its Internet Explorer and wine-mono package for
Microsoft .NET applications.
4) Ubuntu repository has not neither gecko nor wine-mono packages
