Problem:
After installing Gusty 7.10 Kubuntu with a AD1988 HDA Intel onboard sound
chipset, KMix does not give the user the option to select Digital Out as one of
the output formats.
Workaround:
Open `alsamixer' and manually unmute and turn up volume on digital out.
