I started using Linux recently so don't know much stuff.I tried to check
the SMART status as you suggested by following this thread.

I wrote the commands:
sudo apt-get install gnome-disk-utility
sudo apt-get install smartontools

In both cases,the system freezed on
"Reading package lists....98%"
I waited for some time and screen blacked out with a lot of codes on it.I
attach the same with this mail.

My system also freezes sometimes when I tried to update through Synaptic
Package Manager or update drivers.

Please help.What should I do next?Should I get a new hard drive?
