> PIOTR from comment 6! You've got it working on 16.04!? Get at me, bro!
I downgraded linux-firmware to 1.157.8 and it's still working on 16.04 with the latest kernel (I use HWE). Any next version for Xenial causes SYSASSERT when connecting to 5 GHz networks. Here's the deb file of the version I use: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/1.157.8/+build/11854261/+files/linux-firmware_1.157.8_all.deb Also I have linux-firmware prevented from updates using 'apt-mark hold' command. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1682744 Title: Connecting to wifi 5GHz network causes iwlwifi firmware/driver error.
