I've a Lenovo Flex 3, and the mic does not work with a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10. I had to instal PulseAudioVolumeControl and move the 'From Left' setting all the way left, and keep the 'From Right' setting higher in order for it to work.
But then Chrome autoadjusts the internal mic volume when I do any conferencing in the browser.
