The systemd/dbus issues are possibly related to the partial fix detailed
in

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1591411

However, there are 2 upstream DBus bugs/fixes and I believe one of them
isn't in 17.10's DBus at present:

"unix fd in-flight counting broken"
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95263
" _dbus_timeout_set_enabled doesn't reset timeout ticking"
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95619#c10
