Public bug reported:
Every few seconds, xfwm4 has a spike of high CPU usage (from 0% to 6% or
7%). Whenever this happens, the entire computer freezes for 1 - 2
seconds. When frozen, everything on the screen freezes and I cannot
move the mouse or use the keyboard. After the freeze ends, everything
starts working again and CPU usage drops.
This started as soon as I rebooted after updating to Xubuntu 17.10 and
happens no matter what programs are opened. I have made sure that
everything is up to date with apt-get, and the freezes still happen.
The exact command line of the process causing trouble is "xfwm4
--replace".
