Greetings, this bug is also affecting my brand new fresh clean install
of Ubuntu 17.10 to my Dell XPS 15 laptop. I have gone thru this thread
and have tried every single trick/hack and nothing allows the machine to
boot successfully once the Nvidia drivers are installed. In fact, I am
facing consisten boot loops no matter which driver I install. I was
also unsuccessful in being able to log in wiht lightdm, even though the
machine did successfullly boot to the lightdm login screen after
Nvidia-375 was installed. I was wondering if I should try a different
kernel than the one that ships with 17.10?? I have as GeoForce GTX 1050
video card in the machine, so its not uncommon.
