Public bug reported:
I am running Ubuntu 17.04 on an amd64 pc box. Using sudo apt-get
install the meep package installs and produces a working binary, but at
meep run time an error is produced, and the program stops. The package
apparently always includes the latest guile-2.0 version, the latest
being guile-2.0.13. If meep and dependencies are compiled from sources,
using guile-2.0.11, an error-free meep binary is produced. According to
meep maintainers (see meep-discuss email archive, "Installation
instructions for meep on Ubuntu 16.04" by Ardavan Oskooi) the problem
can be traced to SWIG. Until the problem with SWIG can be fixed, I
suggest replacing guile-2.0.13 with guile-2.0.11 in the Ubuntu meep
package.
