Public bug reported:

Hello, I've got a very strange problem while reproducing audio streams on
ubuntu linux 7.10 Gusty Gibbon.
Simply while playing my MP3s (I installed restricted codecs) or one of my audio
CDs the sound suddenly stops; I can not be more precise because sometimes I can
hear sounds for some minutes, but sometimes the audio lacks after few seconds;
sometimes after an undefined period of time the sound returns working (and will
also stops...).
I already tried installing the vendor alsa package and also downloading new
alsa drivers from the alsa project page but the problem remains.
Another important note: I can reproduce this problem with another liveCD linux
distro.

Now I'll post some informations about my HW/SW config:

Ok, I think that's all.
Let me know if you need additional information in order to reproduce this
