i don't belive that to be a reason not to boot at all. If i am not mistaken the live cd also may use a swap partition if it finds one. And that sistem has one of about 760 MB .And besides.. one of the other systems i tried edgy live on had 128 MB and it worked ;) so... i don't think that's the issue.
