CinciJ, you are ignoring the point. The hypothetical was an "all
other things being equal, the gun is a lot more dangerous than the
knife" assertion.
Following your logic, if one guy was armed with a mosquito but it was
going to give me malaria, and the other guy had a sherman tank but the
turret was stuck pointing in the wrong direction, you would conclude
that a mosquito is more dangerous than a sherman tank.
