Public bug reported: The following bug is present in the curent version of libvirt-python in Xenial (1.3.1):
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1326839 This bug has been resolved in 1.3.4 by the following commit: https://gitlab.com/libvirt/libvirt- python/commit/e9c4e2abffef007a28112ebb40a9586b0128f10b This bug is e.g. triggered when using OpenStack Telemetry (Ceilometer) and configuring it to collect "cpu" metering data. This leads to the segmentation fault mentioned in the linked bug report.
