Public bug reported:
After upgrade from Lubuntu 17.04 to 17.10, the taskbar has 2 icons for
managing the network. Both bring up the same menu with a slight
difference. For the icon on the left, the menu item for "Enable
Networking" has a checkmark in a box, while the icon on the right has a
blue square in a box.
If I delete the /home/user/.config directory, a new one is created and
the GUI has one network icon. If I log out, wait a little and log back
in, the extra icon will be gone. Reboot, and the 2 icons are back.
