Just installed ubuntu 7.10, working great for hours until the screen
went black for a few seconds, then the login screen appeared.
The only log I can find with any mention of this is /var/log/syslog:

The only pattern I've noticed about this is that it only happens if I'm
in the middle of typing something (be it firefox, xchat, etc - but NOT
the terminal), it's quite happy if I'm just using the mouse.
