I have added a vga=791 in my menu.lst and I edited my /etc/initramfs-tools/modules to look like: fbcon vsafb vga16fb I changed /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer blacklist vesafb -> #blacklist vesafb blacklist vga16fb -> #blacklist vga16fb
After that you have to do sudo update-initramfs -u and that's it.
