I tried with this gcc version in artful:
Package: gcc-7
Version: 7.2.0-8ubuntu3
and the problem is still there.
I am wondering what is different on my systems. gcc itself is not
corrupted:
$ debsums -s gcc-7
[nothing]
** Changed in: gcc-7 (Ubuntu)
Status: Expired => New
