I am running into this bug currently:
- using Linksys 4-port KVM
- Microsoft USB mouse
- Ubuntu 7.10 / Gnome with Compiz running
- dmesg output does not change before and after the event, so I don't think
anything gets logged there related to the problem
- if I plug the mouse directly into the computer, the problem goes away. New
output in dmesg is here:
[165542.320000] usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2
[165542.540000] usb 4-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

/build/buildd/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-core.c:

The xorg.conf configuration for the mouse is:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
