Do you still have this problem? I have tried to reproduce it, but I get the a's
and b's nicely mixed.
Also cpu utilization is > 100%:

The only difference I can see from your report is that I have a slightly newer
kernel then you have:

Can you upgrade to the latest kernel and try again?
I have an Intel T7200 processor. What processor do you have?
