I discovered the same problem on Alienware 15r2. I suspect this causes/indicates that a bug in ACPI disables the suspend and hibernate function. Specifically, after closing the lid on a laptop, it goes into suspend mode, but then after opening the screen stays black. If it helps: the hard drive starts spinning and the battery indicator blinks non-stop. Can anyone suggest a fix, please ?
