Public bug reported:
The amd64 version (and possibly others) of the libffmpegthumbnailer4v5
package (2.1.1-0.1build1) incorrectly states that it has a dependency
for libavfilter6 but not libavfilter-extra6. This disallows users from
installing libavfilter-extra6 alongside this package when it should
otherwise be acceptable.
Interestingly, this problem appears to be only in the deb package
itself, and not in the source for said package. Currently this problem
is readily resolved by simply pulling the source package and rebuilding
with no modifications.
System Information:
Description: Ubuntu 17.10
Release: 17.10
Version Information:
libffmpegthumbnailer4v5:
Installed: 2.1.1-0.1build1
Candidate: 2.1.1-0.1build1
Version table:
*** 2.1.1-0.1build1 500
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Expected Behavior:
Aptitude/Apt should allow for libavfilter-extra6 to fulfill the libavfilter6
dependency requirement for libffmpegthumbnailer4v5.
Current Behavior:
libffmpegthumbnailer4v5 depends exclusively upon libavfilter6 in the deb
package but not a package built without modification using `apt source
libffmpegthumbnailer4v5`
** Affects: ffmpegthumbnailer (Ubuntu)
