Hi, you have mysql installed but your database is broken. >From your Log: 2017-12-20T13:59:10.910577Z 0 [Note] InnoDB: Log scan progressed past the checkpoint lsn 83231063627 2017-12-20T13:59:10.910600Z 0 [Note] InnoDB: Doing recovery: scanned up to log sequence number 83231064064 2017-12-20T13:59:10.911220Z 0 [ERROR] InnoDB: Ignoring the redo log due to missing MLOG_CHECKPOINT between the checkpoint 83231063627 and the end 83231064064. 2017-12-20T13:59:10.911241Z 0 [ERROR] InnoDB: Plugin initialization aborted with error Generic error 2017-12-20T13:59:11.514745Z 0 [ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' init function returned error. 2017-12-20T13:59:11.514802Z 0 [ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' registration as a STORAGE ENGINE failed. 2017-12-20T13:59:11.514812Z 0 [ERROR] Failed to initialize plugins. 2017-12-20T13:59:11.514817Z 0 [ERROR] Aborting
Due to that the service is failing to (re-)start. But that is a requirement to upgrade the package (to do updates on the upgrade). You can fixup the DB (or remove it if not needed) or remove mysql completely if not used anyway. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1739427 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.20-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script re turned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1739427/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
