Men, help us. I spent a lot of time yesterday dealing with this issue. I even formatted and put a fresh 16.04 Ubuntu, but after the system updates the problem reappears again. The system is almost unusable, I can't pass the pointer over the side bar and everthing disappears and appears again. My laptop is old, it dates back to 2009, with an Intel Core 2 Duo T5800.
