I'm still having problems even with 4.4.0-109. This is running Ubuntu
Mate 16.04 on an Intel Core i5-3570K with onboard graphics and luks disk
encryption. Although the system gets a little farther than it did with
4.4.0-108, the password screen comes up in low resolution mode and does
not respond to keyboard input, apparently crashed. So for now I'm back
to running 4.4.0-104.
