I am seeing the same problem I think. The system crashes on boot in kernel 4.13.0-26-generic in Ubuntu , but boots fine on 4.10.0=42-generic. I have a Dell Precision T3600 with a Xeon E5-1620 CPU. ecause the system doesn't boot (even in recovery mode), I cannot run apport-bug to file detailed logs. I can upload a screenshot of the crash if necessary.
What I can report from memory is that the crash comes from dereferencing a NULL. On my most recent attempt, the last [Ok] message before the crash related to the sound card, and another one comes up after the error message related to the keyboard. Then everything freezes. I have no reason to believe that either of these modules is actually the culprit. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742603 Title: Kernel 4.13.0-26.29~16.04.2 Causing Crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1742603/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
