Can't install Ubuntu 17.10 onto new ASUS Prime X399-A based system with
Ryzen 1950X Threadripper.

64GB memory

Samsung 950 Pro m.2 boot drive

Tried with both Nvidia 1080Ti (Gigabyte) video card, then older AMD
Radeon.  Same installation failure.
