thanx for your prompt reply... update-manager-core *is* actually
0.59.25... I was about to try the "-m server" stuff when I noticed that
my ^R was showing do-release-upgrade /without/ the sudo... it turns out
that doing that actually asked me for the password at some point, but
that was only valid for the ifrst checkings... I just launched a plain
"sudo do-release-upgrade" (without the -m option) and at least it passed
the point where it hung before...

Aparently, it is now proceeding with the apt-get dist-upgrade...

So, my guess is that this ticket is invalid due to "user=id10t"... but
let me keep it open until it finished... I'll post here whenever it
finishes upgrading so you can safley close the ticket.
