Public bug reported: In the search box (not the URL bar) I have noticed that if I enter some text, for instance if I put the word "sausage" in there, and then I right-click on the box and click "Clear Search History" that it also clears the text in the search box.
If I click off the search box it stays blank. However if I (without clicking off it) press the Esc key, then the word "sausage" (or whatever was there) is restored. I think if you're going to clear the text box of its contents when somebody clicks the clear history button, that you should allow pressing Esc to just restore it. It's strange and inconsistent. I am running an up-to-date installation of Ubuntu 17.10 and Firefox version 57.0.4. ** Affects: firefox Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: ubuntu-gnome Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: Mozilla Bugzilla #1431923 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1431923 ** Also affects: firefox via https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1431923 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Also affects: ubuntu-gnome Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1744465 Title: After emptying the search box with "Clear Search History" pressing Esc restores search box contents To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1744465/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
