Public bug reported:

I faced a grub rescue dialogue after grubx64.efi was sent from MAAS. It's very
similar with:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1437353

But a workaround replacing grubx64.efi with newer one didn't work for
me:

$ sudo cp -v artful_grubx64.efi.signed \
    /var/lib/maas/boot-resources/current/bootloader/uefi/amd64/grubx64.efi
$ sudo service tgt restart
$ sudo service maas-rackd restart

Hardware information:
Cisco UCSC-C240-M4SX
Intel I350 Gigabit Network Connection
(firmware: 1.63, 0x80000e75, 0.385.8)
UEFI -> it didn't work

I didn't see this behavior with a similar Cisco server with Intel X710.

Cisco UCSC-C240-M4L
Intel X710 for 10GbE SFP+
UEFI -> it worked

Also, when looking at the Cisco driver download page:
https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281356&softwareid=283850974&release=3.0(3f)

It's linked to the release notes which have the line:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/b_UCS_C-Series_Release_Notes_3_0_3.html

    CSCui32274
    UEFI PXE boot is not working in C-series servers.
    (Workaround) None. This feature is currently not supported.

** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
