** Description changed: On Ubuntu 17.10, no video is shown in Gnome Subtitles (just a black screen), only audio. I tried several files (avi, mkv, mp4). Playing these files in Totem and VLC works with both audio and video. When I start Gnome Subtitles in terminal and open a video, I get this error message in terminal: libva error: va_getDriverName() failed with unknown libva error,driver_name=(null) libva error: va_getDriverName() failed with unknown libva error,driver_name=(null) Got video info: width=0, height=0, aspect_Ratio=0, frame_rate=0, has_audio=True, has_video=False + I'm using Gnome Subtitles 1.3-2 from Ubuntu's repositories. - I'm using Gnome Subtitles 1.3-2 from Ubuntu's repositories. + Update: It might have something to do with Nvidia's binary driver + version 384.111 for GM107M [GeForce GTX 960M]. When I switched to + Nouveau display driver, I got video in Gnome Subtitles.
