Adding to what Bryce said, my original bug report deals with a 3D performance regression, not 2D. I believe the problem was that the i810/Mesa driver in Dapper disabled batchbuffers, causing a slowdown , and there were other issues related to Xorg and drm that resolved themselves from Edgy onwards.
A workaround to restore some 3D speed is to set the environment variable INTEL_BATCH="1", but it will disable rotation. I would like to close this bug, unless someone thinks it should be kept open due to Dapper's LTS status. Georg already has a bug open for his issue, and it seems Kyle reported a different issue. -- Serious 3D performance regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/47939 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
