Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qemu

On Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon:
If raw-format is used as harddisk-image and the image-file is 8GB or greater
formatting with NTFS fails during installation.
To reproduce do the following steps:
1. sudo apt-get install qemu
2. qemu-img create win2k.img 8G
3. Start QEMU with: qemu -hda win2k.img -cdrom /dev/cdrom -boot d -win2k-hack
-localtime
4. Beginn the Installation and format the selected Partition with NTFS (FAT
fails too after the installation, disk is then not bootable!)
5. A message appears that an error occures during formatting...

This occures only on large raw-image files, not with qcow2.
I don't know if the physical real size of the image-file is the reason for this
error or if this related to the raw-format.

** Affects: qemu (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
