Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-new
I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 with the nvidia Quadro NVS 140M.
When using the nvidia driver from the restricted drivers manager, the
brightness controls no longer work to control screen brightness. In
order to use them, you first have to switch to a terminal, then the
brightness will change, then you have to switch back. This also means
the power management features for screen brightness don't work. Using
the VESA driver (nv will NOT boot, only a blank screen) does not have
this issue.
The nvidia driver also has graphical corruption on certain effects. For
example, the desktop-effects workspace switcher is corrupted. 3D does
generally work fine however.
** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 (Ubuntu)
