Thanks for digging deeper into this. When running MALLOC_PERTURB_=117
gcc -v, I am able to reproduce this issue with gcc 7.2.0-18ubuntu2 on
Ubuntu bionic. (Not that I know what the environment variable do, but it
does affect the output)
