Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: adept-manager

The instructions at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading for
upgrading from Kubuntu 7.04 to 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) indicate that one
should "Open the Adept Manager by going to KMenu -> System -> Adept
Manager (Manage Packages)." Later they state to press the Version
Upgrade button. However, on my system that menu item runs adept_manager
without any options, and the Version Upgrade button does not appear
(even after updating my system in the usual way).

By opening a terminal window and running "sudo adept_manager --version-
upgrade" I can obtain the Version Upgrade button (so I anticipate being
able to upgrade).

Therefore I would recommend adding a note to the Kubuntu upgrade
instructions at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading explaining
what to do if the Version Upgrade button does not appear as expected
(once one's system is up to date). For example, the note might say to
open a terminal window and run "sudo adept_manager --version-upgrade" at
the shell prompt. Of course, you may have a better solution.

Thanks for your attention, and I hope this report helps.
