Thanks for taking the time to file a bug and even read through your error messages :)
Looking at your dpkg history log, it shows you purging mysql-server right before installing. I tried this same ordering and did not come across this issue: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/C6dW4f9TRW/ I believe we have seen this before, but without steps to reproduce it is difficult to know how to work further on this bug. ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1749098 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.21-0ubuntu0.17.10.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess instaliran post-installation skripta returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1749098/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
