Public bug reported:
I was trying to install upgrades I had been notified were available. The
update was launched from the "details" button on the system settings
window. It was attempting to do a partial upgrade when the crash
happened. I have occasionally had partial upgrades in the past, but they
were successful. The error message contained instructions to report the
error as a bug, with instructions on what to type into the terminal.
