Ok, here is how I was able to get my printer to work. Step 1: Go to https://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins. Step 2: Download the plugin files (both 'run' and 'run.asc') for the hplip version that you are using. Step 3: Run hp-setup -g. Choose option p to specify a path to the plugin and use the path to the 'run' file that you downloaded in step 2. It may give you some errors, but install it anyway.
Now you should have a working printer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1749690 Title: hp-setup fails to install plugin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1749690/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
