OK. I worked around the bug by removing `shim` and `shim-signed` from my system (`apt remove shim shim-signed`).
Also because I did this: https://superuser.com/questions/1171524 /possible-to-dual-boot-and-virtualize-same-physical-drive-containing- windows-10, I commented out automatic mounting of `/boot/efi` in `/etc/fstab` (because it is in the Windows drive, and I did not want it to conflict with virtualbox). Hence the "Cannot find EFI directory error" as well. Once the package issues were resolved, I reinstalled shim and shim- signed for secure boot (although secure boot is disabled on my system for proprietary drivers). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1750418 Title: package shim-signed 1.33.1~16.04.1+13-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shim-signed/+bug/1750418/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
