Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

With the Kubuntu PowerPC port install disks on an iBook G3 600MHz with
384Mb.

1) The Live CD fails to boot at all -- it hangs up at "Loading kernel"

2) With the alternate CD a system is installed, but when the time comes
to reboot the system shows the Kubuntu boot splash screen, but the
progress bar halts at about 1 or 2 pixels wide (i.e. first step).
Eventually (sorry I don't have an estimate of how long) it drops into an
emergency ash shell with an "(initramfs) #" prompt.

At a guess I'd say that the initrd generation is failing to generate a
usable initrd.

The Fiesty Live disk works fine and installs a usable system, so it's
unlikely to be a problem with the machine.

** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
