Hello Christian,

May I first apologise if this was not the appropriate place to post. I
was coming from an Ubuntu Server and Ubuntu package point of view.

Indeed it is confusing that a package advertising v7.4 is actually an
older v6.6 release. The bug, therefore, is surely the fact the apt-
system perceived the in-built v7.0 virtual drivers (from XenServer's own
virtual .ISO, much like how VMware does it) as being out of date and
elected to install v7.4. The logic in that is sound. However, it
ultimately installed v6.6 which is the issue.

I cannot comment on Stefan's thoughts as I am not a Debian guy. With
VirtualBox drivers being included as standard now and VMware's available
for installation, would it be unfair to remove Xen's package?

As ever, I revert to your more experienced judgement on the matter.

Best regards,

Modiford.
