Thank you for your great investigation, we would like if more bug
reporters do it this way.
HPLIP should be installed by default as package in the seeds. Anyway, it
should be in the dpendencies of hpijs. Usually such dependencies on
shared libraries are automatically generated by the package build
process, strange that it did not happen here.
Can you check whether HPLIP is contained on the Gutsy desktop CDs and
installed when Gutsy gets installed?
